There are typically three reasons why you might want an app for your business or brand:
- to acquire new customers,
- to increase brand awareness,
- to provide an improved service for existing customers
iPhones aren’t the only platform to consider. In fact Apple devices only hold a 19.1%1 global share of the mobile market. The majority of the market, 48.8%1 is held by Google Android, and the rest split between the Windows Mobile, Blackberry, and the now discontinued Symbian (Nokia’s prior operating system).
The global market shares, however, may not reflect that of your customers. You should therefore poll your customers to find out how many Android phones, iPhones and other devices are in use.
An alternative, often overlooked route to often achieve similar results are mobile websites. Because these websites are accessed via browsers, they can be easily rolled out to any mobile platform. A centralised approach such as this often reduces development costs, as compared to developing native app for one or more mobile platforms for example.
Industrial Pixel have a large range of expertise in all stages of mobile app or mobile website development.
